why is your reading comprehension so bad? why are matters of public record "speculative" in your eyes? Why are you defending people complicit in a genocide? at least finish reading before you go twisting my point.

ITT American liberals realize they're not leftists

they're literally aiding and abetting a genocide right now as we speak

they happily enacted legislation penned by the freaking heritage foundation that put a tax on not having health insurance (read: a tax on not purchasing services from a private company while having a human body), and strutted about like it was a win

not to mention the VP's track record with trans rights (hint: as AG of Cali she went out of her way to land trans women in men's prison, against the prevailing policy in Cali at the time)

'member when Biden campaigned HARD on LGBT rights, and then told us to pipe down and wait our turn when he took office? We've not stopped backsliding since the Trump admin on that stuff.

The Dems are lying to you.

The Dems and Rs are playing good cop bad cop and always have been. They are very clearly on the same side, and the rest is a show to get willfully clueless and baby-brained people to support them.

man that's a hilariously knee-jerk take, with zero effort toward understanding the people you're demonizing.

I think Reddit is the place for you, after all. Slide on into that easy-to-grok, oversimplified, politically narrow US overton window safe space and consume the partisan garbage there to your heart's content. We like thinking over here.

"it's misguided and dangerous to recognize that the good cop and the bad cop are both cops and both want the same thing from you" bruh wat

I keep seeing hypotheticals like this as if the Dems won't pull the same old "we go high" BS they've been pulling my entire life. They're all about positioning themselves as "the good guys" while letting Rs do just whatever. The realistic way it would play out is Dems pretend nothing is wrong, make a show of "peaceful transfer of power" after the election, and do the shocked pikachu when it's bad. Do pay attention to modern history.

the difference is that when Ds have power they vountarily let Rs call the shots, like they did back in the Obama years when they had a supermajority and decided to let Rs dictate healthcare reform anyway. pay attention kid, they make different noises but they heel to the same masters. you're picking between the fascist party and the collaborator party.

the fact of trans people being involved has the effect of making anything complicated, apparently. It's just sooooo complicated to checks notes allow us the same rights and protections as anyone else. But oh hey someone's building a database of trans people while passing a bunch of anti-trans legislation? Hold on now it's complicated he may have a point.

This. I live in a "liberal" place and people look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them what the GOP is up to in the South. Sometimes they even laugh. Libs think we're as ridiculous and safe to disregard as the MAGAs do. A genocide is coming and libs have their heads in the sand about it. Voting will not save us.
