I'm playing Sea of Stars. Around 6h in, loving it so far. There's just something that clicks for me with this game.

I've been playing Ys 9, almost at the end now. I played 8 on the switch around 3 years ago on a whim and really enjoyed it. I also played Origins when it came out there, and it was fun although different. I'm late to the party but find this franchise to be a fun and light jrpg that I can just jump in and out of.

I've started playing Ys 9: Monstrum Nox. It's a quite charming action RPG. I played Ys 8 a few years back and generally found it enjoyable, so wanted to give it a shot. Not the most complex game (so far), but definitely fun!

Just got a console thru a nice sale recently!! I'm new to PS gaming (haven't played much gen games too aside from the occasional PC ports), so have been checking out PS Plus games.

I'm playing FF7R remake these days, and while I really enjoyed the original, this one I have mixed feelings for. It's got nice elements here and there, but the amount of filler is really getting to me. Plus all the times you have to walk slower.

Still, I am enjoying myself, just feels less satisfying knowing how the original went. Curious to see how Intergrade will play (might skip if it's more of the same).

Thanks for the rec! I was playing P5R on gamepass on the XSS, so will definitely look into Lost Odyssey if I can.

The whole debacle made me realize how much of an addiction I had to reddit (not like dysfunctional levels, but still...). App checking is definitely a weird side-effect, as is all the free time I have haha.

For now, Lemmy helps in giving a similar vibe but the calmness (for now) makes it easier to set boundaries, I think. Hope to build healthier habits this time around!

Does anyone know of any communities on Lemmy to talk about JRPGs? It's got to be one of my favorite genres, of which I'm probably most passionate about the Xenoblade series (though I've not had the chance to play the Xenosaga games).

I just recently finished Persona 5 Royal, and while I usually love finally being able to go through discussions on games without fear of spoilers, I don't really wanna head back to check subreddits if I can help it.

Anyways, would love to hear about your favorite JRPGs!

To be honest, for me it's got to be the ending to Nier Automata. That was...intense, thankfully I wasn't spoiled even after playing it so late.
