The issue is the extreme power imbalance. My 'cloud' will be a small space, surrounded by capitalism on all fronts. Like an oil field that's not drilled, but all fields around it are drilled. It's emptied anyway.

You cannot be 'apart' from capitalism as even if you are, or try to be, outside - your position is still going to be defined as an outsider to capitalism and all the hardships that entails.

And if you get a 'cloud' big or powerful enough - let's look at history, what would happen?

Genocide. That's what happens. Every time.

I believe in personal relationships. Trying to be in good relationships makes this mess endurable and, I believe, safest.

Yes. My guess is that, soon enough, just wearing a police uniform will be enough to end up on kill lists.

Kind of like Colombia during narco wars, except it's going to be everywhere, no matter what kind of cop.

Cops will need to watch their backs even more when people have less and less to lose, and believe less and less in the 'rule of law' that constantly fucks them over.

YES YES YES. Some linguistic part of my mind just had an orgasm.

Yes, this cost-saving doesn't directly benefit any billionaire.

Anarchy is. Period.

The rulers of 'God', laws, police, military, and so on, all know this. There is nothing 'out there' that somehow magically 'govern us'. It's all in your head, taught to you while you were young enough to make all that life-long beliefs. And it is rare for adults to then question those beliefs because that's the way childhood and adulthood works, across species.

There's nothing to the foundation of of our current society but ideas. And so it's fragile AF - and what remains real underneath those stories is anarchy: people want to help each other and they know how to take care of themselves. Give them space, and they'll be happy.

That's why the folks who lord it over you come and beat the shit out of you, put you in a cage, or shoot you in the head if you get out of line.

Or even if you simply wish to opt out! Sure, you can go into the forest. But try to bring too many people with you and we'll punch you and YOUR funny ideas into the pavement.

Anarchism is the act of always trying to throw the Ring into Mount Doom. Our 'systems' of rule, political machines, laws, police, borders, bla bla bla, are just different versions Sauron's ring. They all want to use the Ring to help in some way, and all inevitably become his servants.

I think people care, we're just trained into patterns of learned helplessness and isolation over generations.

There were large swathes of people who resisted during the 19th and 20th centuries, they were systematically murdered en masse. I bet it has happened many times over the centuries.

Sometimes I wonder if we've bred ourselves into either loyal obedience or dispassionate compliance because everyone else was always killed by the first group while being ignored by the second.

Or maybe it's just me 🤷‍♂️

Whenever I rob a grocery store, I usually do not have time to complain about billionaires. Those things are implicitly understood by the folks around me who are blessed with average and above intelligence.

I complain about billionaires afterwards on the Internet.

Based on my statistical analysis, the take-home share of myself and my fellow robbers are too small to influence the investment decisions of large grocery chains. So no, I do not fault any of us for the predicament we are in.

Yes.. Capitalism takes a toll on all of us. I understand also your position. But from my position, I would rather not tell you if I saw people shoplifting... Which I also think you understand.

So if you bust me, at least we can get on with the capitalist program we are both stuck in with a tad more understanding and kindness towards each other.

☝️ ✅

Very good points explaining of why folks should not snitch.

Another one: Who are you snitching to?

The shop manager? Why do you prioritise his wellbeing over the shoplifters?

The police? What does that solve except get the shoplifter into deeper shit and more likely to murder down the line?

Or perhaps you think "but people shouldn't steal", in which case you should go after bankers, the police, politicians and big corporations. Don't have what it takes to do that? Then again, sit down your righteous ass and face your own helplessness.

Reporting some poor sod shoplifting won't make you more powerful. It'll make you one of those cowardly white European schmucks who sent their neighbours into concentration camps.

Hmm.. 'demographic transition'?

But WHY? Seriously, are these cops brainwashed? Have they no children?

I know, I know, 1312 - but really? How much of a bastard can you be?

Does anyone know a goddamn cop who can explain what the fuck is going on in their minds?

LOSE YOUR JOB! DO WHATEVER ELSE! PICK UP EMPTY CANS ON THE STREET! Isn't anything better than doing this??
