+1 for ReadEra! Besides .pdfs, it covers a lot of ebook file formats, like .epub, .mobi, .azw3, etc. I typically download .epubs because you can change the font and font size, as well as use dark mode quite easily that way. And it looks like the most recent update now has TTS available for Premium users. It's a very solid app, and is my top choice as well

Based on a quick look, the biggest features it has that browser bookmark managers generally don't have is the ability to search within saved webpages and documents without opening them. Plus, you can share bookmark collections with other people. Sounds a bit like a modern rendition of del.icio.us

One possible solution: if OP is allowed to connect their phone to their work computer, and they have a rooted Android phone, they could get around this using VPN tethering. I'll spell out how to do this, in case someone else can benefit from it.

What's needed:

  • a rooted Android phone
  • a VPN based ad blocker (Blokada, AdAway, etc)
  • a USB cable
  • a VPN hotspot app

Steps:

  1. Connect your phone to a VPN based ad blocker
  2. Connect your phone to your computer
  3. Open the VPN hotspot app. Turn on USB tethering, then rndis0

If it doesn't work, try turning on USB debugging on your phone, or changing default USB configuration under Developer options

If you did want to skip sponsored content within videos, try using SponsorBlock. It's an extension that skips ads, transitions, and other annoying segments within videos based on user submitted timestamps. Pretty much every YouTuber I've found with over 100K subscribers has already got segment timestamps on most of their videos. It really makes watching videos more enjoyable
