For the longest time I had Burned With Desire as my ringback tone on my phone - flip phone days. Classic.

I appreciate that perspective. They aren't bad habits, they are different habits... and they work better in certain scenarios too. Convert those mannerisms to superpowers I say.

Still trying to work out if I should bother a longer seasoning cycle to disappear those "milky spots" on the inner edge of the pan. But doesn't effect my cooking right now so I'm not worried about it.

Yeah I definitely think it could work if it's done the right way There are some much needed functionalities that Lemmy has yet to offer that will make it easier to stand up instances like this (easier customization, better cross-posting, better admin/mod tools, and clearer documentation). But the idea is great and it could work with some patience and hard work across various different players in the lemmy game.

Great idea! Will be checking it out soon. A few communities I am moderating on lemmy.world are:

Would be interested to see how crossover might work between instances.

Ah! But then you need a dedicated hat. 😆 Definitely an additional +1 to any kit.

Also, what's this second flashlight with a silicone diffusor? Got a model/name for it?

This is an attempt to figure out what caused it. It is also an example of how it's pretty difficult to figure out what actually causes a migraine from day to day.

Slept from 12 to 9:30AM. Breakfast was French Toast and Eggs. Skipped Coffee. Went swimming out in the sun for about an hour (had sunscreen on). First started feeling a headache and getting dizzy and progressed into a migraine - 11:30AM. Had pizza and root beer for lunch. Took a midday nap for about an hour at 12:30PM. Woke up with throbbing migraine. Took Aleve. Drank 1000ml of water (not that that helps really). Drank a cup of coffee. Migraine went away at about 2PM.

If I take Aleve quickly enough I can usually stop a migraine within an hour or two. If I take it too late then the Aleve does nothing and the migraine can sometimes last until the next day.

Why does this timeline matter? It matters because it's an example of how anything could have caused the migraine especially when there are so many confounding factors at play.

  1. Woke up later than usual.
  2. Didn't drink my normal coffee in the morning, withdrawal/craving?
  3. Out in the sun too long?
  4. I had sunscreen on, sensitivity to the sunscreen chemicals?
  5. Didn't eat enough for breakfast + craving more substantial food, needing to eat lunch earlier?
  6. Something else entirely not listed here?

Sometimes you just can't figure it out - you just gotta take the meds quickly and move on.

Yeah I don't know if I could handle the crash and other side-effects. I already have so many other health things I am trying to manage and understand I feel like this would be another wrench thrown into the proverbial machine.

I did get a chance to meet with the therapist and she immediately was like "you have ADHD". All it took was mentioning my unending fidgeting and constant need to rush things and she already knew where it was going. I wonder if a therapist has the ability to administer any tests even if they aren't for the purpose of medication - more as a clinical confirmation of diagnosis I guess?

Thanks for your ADHD story btw!

I started adding an additional headlamp flashlight to my bags - in an emergency I may need my hands available. Has been the better choice when there's something I need to fix or work on at night.

If I could add you myself I would. I'll check back in a couple days to remind you. Every vote for seltzer counts.

A great place to:

  • A) talk about, rate, and enjoy different seltzer flavors and brands.
  • B) help people stop drinking bad drinks like alcohol, soda, coffee, etc.
  • C) encourage each other to get hydrated but with style.

Let's not take it too seriously - it's just water with bubbles in it at the end of the day.

I tried to use Habitica but it always felt over-complicated, due to shoehorning each set of habits into the gaming format, for simple tracking software. If you can get over the extra upkeep I'm sure it's both fun and worth it.

Not me but my wife. If she is having trouble falling asleep I always remind her to play Futurama on her phone then she is out like a light in ~10 minutes.

I think from a business perspective a third-party app is still competition only in the sense that they are pulling away "numbers" from their own app, views, analytics, marketers. Even if they aren't direct competition it's something that they are competing against in a different sense. But your point is still correct - these apps are participating and aiding in a beneficial way even if it can't be quantified by their financial / marketing / product departments.

Is there a way to review any votes / downvotes you get across all Lemmy posts and comments? Additionally, it would be cool if users could opt-in to getting notifications for up/down votes on content.

It gives me a headache just looking at this chart. If it's close to true then that means I typically get migraines, cluster headaches, and sinus headaches depending on many environmental factors changing.

2

Please post any ideas for logos, banners, and community description/info details. I already filled in some temporary imagery and description to get things started.

Hoping to build a successful support community with other contributors.
