Currently I wouldn't count on it as for as long as there is no activity on codeberg, looking at it in general is a waste of time. If you find an issue on both Kbin and Mbin and are convinced it is the same issue, it's definitely worth reporting on both.

He may well be referring to my posts and the chaos that ensued in the comments thereof. You have a valid point. However, Ernest's communication has up to now not been very consistent, both timing and content wise. It makes sense he hasn't given updates, for the time being, as he didn't have any real improvements to announce, unlike this one, to prevent another escalation. Not the best strategy, but given the odds of a similar situation arising again, understandable. You are already part of a similar discussion it would have started and it would have been over nothing. At least now he had some (good) news to announce. I would not likely have responded though, I haven't really paid much attention since the last time. Once again I was attracted by the notification of a message, on matrix this time, leading me to have a look at what's going on. I am saying this because some people were convinced I was stalking and harassing Ernest last time, to give you an impression of what chaos he is likely referring to. Of course odds are something would have triggered my attention and I would have, as I said I won't be silenced. But other people have taken the lead this time.

Let's hope Ernest really is doing better and will do as he says, so we can forget about the past.

That's great Ernest. Good to read you're going to delegate admin tasks. I'm ready to help as you know. There's a question on the matrix about unusual activity, maybe you can have someone look at that. Stay strong!

Well then. I don't know what happened here. I was asked about this situation so I linked here, to find, to my surprise, that my final comment is missing.

This is a month ago now and I don't want to continue the thread, but also do not like my comments going missing. So here is my response to the above

I understand your response, if I would stumble across this just new I'd respond the same.

This situation had been going on for months and this was in fact the first time ever that Ernest has properly responded to a message, anywhere, from anyone, since he went silent. So I took this opportunity to ask questions and get answers from him. A lot of people had already given up or lost interest, but I wanted to know for sure.

I was undecided up to now, but have always expressed my serious doubts about whether a person like him is suitable as a leader of a project like this. Not because of his personality, I am sure he's an awesome guy, but because of his lack of professionalism when things go wrong. Don't get me wrong, I felt very sorry for him all along, he was in a terrible position, no doubt about that and as I've said before I fully sympathize with him. But he should not have dragged the project and its community down with him. I'm glad he's climbing back up again and with him his loyal supporters.

What this entire roller-coaster ride, including this thread, has demonstrated to me over the past few months is, sadly, that should something go wrong again, it will very likely happen in the exact same way.

That for me removes all doubt; I conclude that he is not a suitable leader. I am sorry to say it but it's the way it is.

There is no grievance, but if this all sounds like waa waa babies to you I can fully understand. People were not pleased by the bad code being planted so that kind of set the tone and I understand I sounded like I was trying to make him sound bad. Everything I've said to and/or asked about him is based on reality, however.

It makes sense to me it came across as reactionary, but it's done now. A lot was cleared up for me, all doubt has been removed. Let's all move on with whichever version we prefer and make this great project better than ever

Not completely random, every noun/verb would be translatable to a specific word/name. But also characters, there'd be many characters whose names, intentions and goals, relationships/links would also be in the same unreadable state. The storyline would likely not be chronological, but several actions and decisions by all kinds of actors would intertwine. It would be very hard to translate into a readable story, let alone so that it makes sense

If you mean we should change our community's name, we are not going to. Please embrace the present as well.

Glad I downloaded all content from /m/RimWorldPorn just before the darkness then!

You are the first person in over 4 years to make a point of that. It's based on /r/earthporn & /r/mapporn. I'd reccomend not linking renders to your grandma or boss :)

Update: Update: we're live @rimworldporn

Continuing my first question

First of all, this is looking great and I can imagine this platform is under a lot of stress due to the mass migration from Reddit. Keep up the good work!

I am seriously considering moving RimWorldPorn to kbin. It looks good so far, and I like the decentralized nature.

-What happens if this instance falls away somehow? Will the images be preserved due to the decentralized nature?
-Will it be possible to make local backups? (a feature which reddit lacks)
-Will it be possible to set the add type to photo only for /m/RimWorldPorn?
-What is the maximum allowed filesize/resolution? It seems 5.5MB, unknown for X*Y. Can these potentially be increased, for magazines like these?
-I have almost 1000 renders on /r/reddit. Can those all be posted on /m/RimWorldPorn? (I have them stored locally)
-Is it possible for moderators to receive notifications when new images are added?
-Less important: would it be possible to use square thumbnails?

thank you!

Yes I was going to say this, it doesn't quite suit the needs of RimWorldPorn but does look like a great imgur alternative @LollerCorleone

I would like to note that it did not like me signing up from firefox, then verifying my username using chrome. It would not let me in until I tried signing in from chrome and then verifying again. I recommend passing this on to the devs as this will likely be too complicated for a lot of users.

@tchambers this question is for everyone, I am tagging the owner as it may concern you as well. I have a few questions.

Thank you, now we're getting somewhere!

So, trying to understand, what would happen if a user from another instance, that doesn't support, wants to look at mine, will they be redirected?

Update: we're live @rimworldporn

Hello, I am the founder of /r/RimWorldporn. We would like to move away from Reddit and are looking for a good alternative. We are kind of like /r/earthporn, so we require hosting of large images. We've been around for about 4 1/2 years and have accumulated roughly 30GB of images. The main advantage of Reddit is that it hosts relatively high quality images, for free. Would kbin be a suitable platform for this? We could host our own instance, maybe even centralize image storing on it.
