This is one thing I don't like about Lemmy. If a thread gets deleted, it's gone. On reddit, it just gets hidden.

Thanks for looking into it. As of now, the thread liked in the OP still shows a 500 error for me.

Opening the following thread leads to a 500 error to me: https://fedia.io/m/degoogle@lemmy.ml/t/706399/Google-search-alternatives

Other threads do not lead to a 500 error and opening the the thread from a Lemmy instance also works fine. Any idea why this error occurs?

And Elon wants you to think that you get a share of the ad revenue if you pay him.

Is there any issue open in lemmy git for additional filters ???

I absolutely support this. Idealy, we'd have 3 NSFW tags: One for porn, one for gore and one for everything else.

Side note: I'd also very much welcome regular tags for posts. Have you tried to search for a specific meme you saw a week or so ago? It is impossible. I'd love to have tags for different meme formats and templates, so you can more specifically search for an image post with an generic title.

@hanse_mina@mastodon.social Great. The West/Germany managed to delay sending long-range missiles for long enough that the single most impactful Achilles' heel to hit will soon have redundancy. All the talk about helping Ukraine win, but when it comes to really effective targets, Ukraine is barred from going after them.

Thanks for taking the time for your long message. I tried searching for this topic on my lemmy alt. This topic did not show up on either my fedia account, nor the kbin magazine at first, but does now. One more oddity I noticed is that the mbin UI did not hotlink your mentions, but the lemmy UI did so correctly.

Hi, as a new Kbin/Mbin user, I have some questions regarding its use. I hope you can help me out.

  1. Can searches be made more specific? On Lemmy, you could define whether you wanted to search for communities/magazines, threads, comments, users and urls. Furthermore, you could search in only a specified community or posts made by a specified user. Lastly, you can change the result order (newest/controversial/oldest).

  2. To send toots/tweets, do I have to specify a magazine? I seem to be unable to send a toot without specifying a magazine first, although I only try to adress a mastodon user directly.

  3. Is this even the right magazine to ask these questions in? Is there a dedicated kbin support magazine?

  4. On Lemmy, users can send each others direct messages. It seems like Kbin/Mbin has no way of displaying those direct messages. Is that correct or is there a way to show direct messages?
