BRING IT ON NITPICKY NUKE NERDS

Well acthtually we prefer to be called fission/fusion nerds

"greenwashing is cheaper than action" indeed. (edit2) On that note, storytime about the clownshow that is Dutch politics. So our radical right wing government is pro nuclear power, of course, and they want to build more powerplants. So what are they planning on doing? They are going to start a study on which locations are best. Which is maddening, as these studies have already been done before (so it prob is just an attempt to hopefully have the study finish when it isn't them in power anymore so they are not at risk of starting an too expensive megaproject). But it gets worse, the absolute clowns of our farmers party just went 'fuck the studies' and they just pointed at a province where there are a lot of farmers and went 'we will put a powerplant there'. And this is how they discovered nuclear powerplants need running water and they picked one of the areas without a major river. ('im ignoring the clownshow re 'the immigration crisis' (not a crisis) as this post is already too long, and there is a big risk of honk overdose if I go into that).

This sadly has caused my login problems to reappear on bsky. No idea what they are doing with their service, but I'm having regular issues with the site. Also seems 'downforeveryoneorjustme' enshittified. (the image is showing a part of the site which is now an advertisement for some AI bullshit chatbot/imagegenerator everything aislop roleplay thing). (seems to be fixed now, but wow did bsky have weird issues for me).

He also put 'everything you post is now training data for ais' in his tos apparently. So nightshade poison those images and start building a following on other sites artists. (And as a non artist, reminder to self to like and repost more artists I like).

Yeah im trying to point how bog standard mass shooter neo-nazi this stuff is. Including claiming the far right things they say are not far right, 'normies' etc. next steps are either murder or being revealed as into 'lolis'.

(E: Btw don't get me wrong, these people are still dangerous (esp as one of their goals is always stochastic terrorism), even if they follow tired old patterns).

Later, he boasted of spending the next year “travelling around from major city to major city, just setting up these cells”

Iirc a few mass shooter manifestos also claim this sort of behaviour. So without more facts backing this up it might just be fight club cosplaying. (And yes setting up these kinds of paramilitary fight clubs is very fascist (and quite cringe and weird with the hitting each other, just go to a metal/punk mosh pit))

Sadly I think the only way to trust you are not getting a lot of AI art is by starting to follow a lot of artists you like on social media. Just going to a site which sells things seems a bit risky atm.

“Our balls are big, juicy, and oh-so-satisfying, served up in all the saucy ways you love.” Ah the 'make it naughty so it seems we didn't know what we were doing, to go viral' strategy.

iirc they had tools to import data from other wikis into theirs, but not tools to export.

I had heard some vague stuff about this, but had no idea it was this bad. Also, I didn't know how much of a fool RMS was. : "RMS did not believe in providing raises — prior cost of living adjustments were a battle and not annual. RMS believed that if a precedent was created for increasing wages, the logical conclusion would be that employees would be paid infinity dollars and the FSF would go bankrupt." (It gets worse btw).

Surely his reading comprehension isn’t actually this bad, and he only got a bad meme-cliffnotes version of the radio-series/books/movies!?!

Ow boy do I have some stories for you about his takeaways from other media he consumed. For example, and a worse take.

(There was also a take which I remember where he mentioned that in the Culture humans are basically pets of the AIs (which is mentioned in the books yes, but only by the people who are anti/sceptical of The Culture, The Culture itself makes it pretty clear they are not pets. (In the last book they even seem to fulfill some more vital role in keeping the AIs sane, and people have full autonomy in a way that pets never do)). Couldn't find this take sadly. As everything is now about the Haitian pets thing (erugh, racist shits), and also this 'humans are pets' thing is an not uncommon misreading of people reading the culture novels).
