I can’t imagine Meta believes in the general ethos of the Fediverse, not for one minute. It’s pretty clear how corporations act to dominate or disrupt anything they perceive as threatening their consolidation over “the market”. If the Fediverse gains real traction that’s going to be a problem for them and they will act accordingly.

Same boat but really I think it depends on context. A serious discussion or someone looking for specific technical advice on something then I totally agree. Shitposts and silliness serve an important role though, anyone can wade in, it’s a useful ice breaker and for the lurky types who maybe need to build some confidence just posting anything (without being obnoxious) should be encouraged.
Yeah you think this is just a can of fucking beans when in fact what we are looking at here is a socio political commentary on the state of late stage capitalism. Which is in fact a long arse way of stating the simple fact that who the fuck can afford branded beans in this day and age.
I’d love to see Apollo rise from the ashes but I get how Christian must be feeling about the whole thing right now. Still, its legacy will live on. Standards have been set and I’m sure a lot of devs have taken inspiration from that.
Yeah it’s kind of amusing. I’ve gotten so used to mindlessly doom scrolling and here it’s like damn can’t just lurk there’s not enough to just lurk over. Lord I have to use that keyboard thingie and form sentences.
Seems a good a thread as any for my first post. Exciting times. Reddit showing its true colours might well make the internet just a little bit of a better place if it helps the Fediverse take off.
It took months for our rescued dog to truly settle in. I thought he didn’t have a wag. Never wagged his tail. Little by little though we got a wag. Just one lil swish to start but as time went on he got more confident. Now sometimes he wags his tail as he dreams and I think that yeah, finally now he’s happy. You have to have a lot of patience, I can’t say it’s been easy, but I’m so glad we found him!
