When you're drinking with someone, oldest person pours first, make a whirlpool in the bottle, tap the bottom with the palm of your hand firmly, open it then poke the top of the bottle between your first and second digit (ideally spilling some), pour with two hands covering the label, never pour a drink for yourself, the first drink is taken as a shot (the rest can be shot or sipped), turn away from/avoid eye contact with the person who poured your drink if they're older than you. It's a whole thing but not mandatory haha

Do you like to do the whole ritual?

Okay Kmart has just got these really cool iridescent skull candles in, and it is taking every ounce of self-control to leave them on the shelf. I do NOT need to spend this money. πŸ˜‚

I had a little go but it was sketchy as hell. I need a muscle daddy to come over. Lucky I know a few.

I'm grateful for the new laundromat near me -- and the dryer still works so I think I can make do for a couple weeks thankfully. But lugging around a wet load of washing yesterday in the rain was not fun!

My washing machine has broken down :( Booked in a service but I somehow need to get the dryer off the top before then πŸ€” Gonna be an expensive fuck around all up.

I thought there was something wrong with my wired earbuds I plug in to my laptop, because I was hearing clicks in them at random times. Turns out I was because I was putting my phone back down on the cables. I always theorised it was my phone trying to charge itself wirelessly, but it definitely makes more sense if it's NFC related.

Hopefully I didn't come across as invalidating how you feel! I think it has taken work on my side to think this way.

Controversial take, but I hold so much space for kids in that age range. Being a teen/tween fucking sucks. School (feels at the time like it) sucks. Puberty sucks. Bullying sucks. Coming from a poor family or shitty home dynamic sucks. Not sleeping properly and getting up early for public transport to school sucks.

So, fuck yeah, do your TikTok dances, listen to music on speakerphone, drink your huge Slurpee, and take up a seat instead of giving it up to an adult that has probably sat on a wheelie chair all day. Just do your best.

Oh hell yeah. Mint jelly?

I'm familiar with that policy actually! In this case I'd picked up two different things from two separate "2 for" promotions without realising it, and in order to prove it he tried to scan them both twice each and that still didn't give the discount. A that point I think he just said fuggit and set one to $0 haha.

Hit list from today:

  1. Old mate at Bailey Nelson that fixed my askew glasses perfectly in one try
  2. Old mate at Coles that couldn't figure out why a "2 for" purchase wasn't discounting, so he just gave me one for free
  3. Old mate barber that just knows what to do when I walk in and I think undercharges me
