It's great to be frugal, but shitty to have absolutely no other choice but to have it so ruthlessly rammed down your throat. The farmer struggles for a minimal return, consumers pay a premium for bare essentials and the fat cats and shareholders in the middle get all the cream. Grocery shopping is essential and should be treated as such, with essential items price protected, but time and time again governments are gutless wonders.

For me it's travel and dining out in various places whilst I'm doing it sighs

Nipper, eh? Thanks for that link, I've always loved that iconic image. In fact, I see it every day just up the road from me:

This place was an old TV and electrical repair shop many years ago. Now it's someone's house.

This guy is Imgur famous for doing structural integrity inspections of houses, requiring him and his team to go under the floor of houses and film the dodgy and interesting stuff found there. I think they're in the California area, so they get called to inspect after the seismic activity they have there, and often find buildings that weren't built to code in the first place. Your photo was like the classic beginning of a "Things seen this week during structural assessments" post.

I thought this was going to be one of those Alphastructural Imgur posts!

Ooh, glad you're ok. I heard it on the roof at work and went to peek outside the door strips. Boss looked at me quizzically and I said, "you know, I'm 50 years old, and I still have to go have a look at the hail!" He said, "you know, there's nothing wrong with that at all."

Eating when you're not hungry does me in, but the reason is that my biggest problem is also eating to avoid food being wasted. I think, "look that'll get thrown out, can't waste it," and I'll eat it when I'm not hungry, especially things that aren't freezable or good for lunch the next day. I'll have to maybe start making smaller portions.

I was doing ok until I recently said I was, then I jinxed it ๐Ÿ˜” Glad you've got some results though, well done!

The HMV dog got nothin' on your boy! The pics could be straight off a greeting card.

Miniest couldn't get to sleep at first due to the noise, then wouldn't stay asleep. Didn't help having a half demolished house down the road, lots of banging and loose sheet metal type of noises. If I sent her to school she'd fall asleep at her desk, which she's done before, so she can stay home. Wish I could too, but I'm off to work in an unusually empty bus.

Oh wow I'd forgotten about this! I loved this show when I was really little, I don't remember why.
