One reason for this lack of mapping is due to the Water and Sewerage companies taking on the ownership of most private sewers, lateral drains and pumping stations. These were transferred into their ownership on the 01/10/2011, pumping stations changed ownership 01/10/2016.

Allowing water penetration is coming more and more important as greater urban areas become covered in impermeable surfaces.

Don't resist listening to Radio 4. It's wonderful to tune in and listen to a documentary about something completely unexepcted. Radio Six Music is also a great station.
