I don’t use logic, but yeah the whole iWork suite, Freeform, Reminders, Notes. I think HomeKit data is also synced, and given how much data corruption happens in HomeKit as it is, I would dread any other complication.

There’s also the transparent encryption that happens where even Apple can’t get your stuff.

I mean I’d be a fan if Apple published a requirement spec for the iCloud api and opened it up to third parties, but it will be a lot to unpack and implement.

I believe guns increase the likelihood of suicide. There was a study on this, and lately firearm instructors have been conveying(in Utah at least) that removing guns from your home if suicidal is crucial. And to watch for signs of depression in other gun owners.

But I agree with your overall point. Removing the guns won’t eliminate those suicide deaths, only reduce them.

And more to my point, if RFK is in power when bird flu achieves human to human transmission, gun deaths will be background noise.

I’d rather have guns on every street corner than a pedo as attorney general, an anti vaxxer as the leader of health, and a racist rapist felon as president.

This is a losing issue that will cost more lives than the 30k a year they claim they will save.

This holds up for simple file hosting, but the entire suite of Apple apps supports collaboration, many with live editing features. Slow sync times would put a damper on that.

Plato had this whole thing about perfect forms that exist outside the physical world, and those perfect forms get corrupted once they are manifested in reality.

Not sure if he specifically had an ideal definition of friendship, or the notion of a perfect, non romantic friendship is described as Platonic because of how messy real world relationships can get.

No they’re not. Go into their forums. They are already dismissing the allegations against him.

Conservatives do not care about crimes if it forwards their agenda.

Reason.com is a libertarian propaganda mill. This story is meant to pit you against the state so you can swallow their other bullshit.

Would you mind sharing the country?

There is no legal or verbal defense against this madness.

Once it spreads, historically, industrial levels of violence are the only way to try to put the genie back in the bottle.

I’d rather small scale intimidation against ringleaders like nick, than having to bomb the fuck out of some redneck stronghold in Missouri in 10 years.

Rumors are indicating that they want to offer some subscriptions to users(domain registration and hosting of various bluesky components).

The company is currently TINY, under 50 employees. So as long as the infra costs stay low, it won’t take much. If enough users get vanity domains, and they get some govt/enterprise accounts for hosting bsky.cnn.com and such.

So the idea is that they want to get to some ethical monetization strategy before releasing the software to aggregate content is released, and federation is enabled.
