Very well said, thanks for chiming it.

I've lived am extremely privileged life and have only just started engaging with this stuff but I'm feeling pretty hopeless. The Libs are firmly neo-liberal, the NDP don't seem capable of any sort of positive messaging, and the Cons have nosedived into neo-nazism.

Local advocacy and education seems like the only way forward for progressive thinkers.

If I'm understanding your comment correctly we're more or less on the same page.

My question is not a literal question but me pointing out the paradox sucking up to Israel to "win the election" and then blaming pro-palestine voters after they lose the election.

Ok you go say that to their faces. Tell them they should suck it up and vote for an administration that is funding a genocide against their people. Tell them they're being "idealistic" when they speak out against a genocide.

Liberals are amazing.

You're doing the exact same thing. You are refusing to acknowledge any criticism to the Harris campaign and blaming voters for the loss.

Misogyny absolutely played a role in this election and I do not want to downplay the racism and misogyny that Harris had to work against, but she ran a fucking awful campaign. She sucked up to fascists, ignored her base, and belittled the concerns pro-palestine protestors.

I'm speaking now.

I'm not American and you didn't answer my question.

If pro-palestinian one issue voters lost Kamala the election, why didn't she appease them? Why are the voters to blame and not the democrats?

they ask Republicans to decide which issues are important

I love this. They are so reactionary and seem almost incapable of counter messaging. I say almost because they managed it once with the tarrifs are sales tax response.

Congrats on not even attempting to understand the point I'm making.

Downvotes on this comment are delusional.

The only candidate in this election with a positive approval rating was the progressive guy (Tim Walz). Bernie Sanders and AOC are two of the most popular politicians around right now and both of them are very progressive. Obama won a historic election by running a progressive campaign. Andy Beshear won the gubernatorial election in fucking Kentucky with a pro-trans progressive message and is an extremely popular governor.

Liberals refuse to even pay lip service to the idea that regular people support progressive policy.

I think leftists in Canada need to actively court the right.

Not in the way the democrats did by actively pivoting right, but by acknowledging their concerns, validating their beliefs that the liberals fucking suck, and trying to direct their frustration towards actual solutions, not a nazi like PP.

idk. It seems fucking stupid but I don't know what other hope we have.

I paid for no-ads Reddit back in the day but when I tried to transfer purchases nothing happened. Is this intentional? $30 seems steep for no ads but I'm a cheap bastard.

Sorry to ask a question that's probably been asked before, couldn't find an answer.
