PDF warning but anyone wanting to peep the law - it's here.

https://www.congress.gov/112/statute/STATUTE-126/STATUTE-126-Pg1146.pdf

There's actually very explicit language that Congress wrote into the law basically ensuring the president, or the executive at large, has to support Israel militarily.

So there isn't really an easy way for a president to unilaterally untangle us from our military alliance with Israel even if they want to. It will take a literal act of Congress to change the course of the State Dept when it comes to Israel as a lot of what is wrong is prescribed by law as necessary.

Bro, come on. You know which ones, the ones the other poster replied to you with showing Jon Oliver saying the opposite of what you said.

Yes we're watching/reading the same things. Except I don't think you actually are or, like I said, if you are you've been really let down by your teachers.

I really appreciate that outlook and point of view. Of course, eventually you'll run across folks like this guy who even given the door won't walk through it but it's commendable to be open minded and kind.

I try to do the same but sometimes it's an obvious troll and you're writing a comment for whoever is reading the comments vs the person you're replying to.

Keep up that positivity and empathy, we all could use some more of that!

Lol ... okay buddy. Either your reading and viewing comprehension is horrendous, which if that's the case sorry you were failed by whatever education you had OR (much more likely) you're simply advancing this "argument" in bad faith.

It's readily apparent how far off the mark you are.

You are actually way off here and somehow reading something way more out of this in a way I don't understand as an outside observer.

That's because you're arguing from a standpoint of reality and engaging with a person acting in bad faith. They know they're wrong, shit they started off with wholesale lies the opposite of what we can see with our own eyes.

[–] LePoisson@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Wow, you really coming in here saying the literal opposite of reality and expect us to buy your bullshit?

Obviously the other comments have given sources showing how wrong you are, just fuck right off with the lies.

I mean I don't wanna play "Blame the victim", but, come the fuck on...

You can't say you don't want to do something then proceed to do it. I mean, you can but obviously if you didn't want to play the card you could have chosen not to play it.

That's coming from someone that commits the same sin at times but I'm trying hard to curb that.

If you're going to say you don't want to do something just don't do it.

Also, our civil liberties should be protected everywhere, the institution is in the wrong here. Just because someone has a particular gender identity should not matter.

Just because big automobile is out to get you.

Idk I think because of how much force needs to be contained by the restraint it is rigid for a reason. My guess is there is an engineering reason based on physics.

Also you don't want people to be falling asleep while driving (anymore than already happens) so maybe that's a factor too? Like it's not meant to be a pillow lol

True some can't adjust the angle, but obviously none of them protrude the ridiculous amount shown in the post.

I'm not sure how this isn't a joke, clearly it's a riff on how headrests can be weirdly uncomfortable at times. Anyways, if you're chilling with your head against that the whole time you're driving you're not doing it right.
