I don't know how relevant this is but I heard human eyes are very good at picking shades of green out. Maybe mammals are generally good at spotting greens and so hiding as a green thing doesn't work as well. Just a guess though

Google forks Linux to make a mobile operating system, stripping out lots of familiar FOSS software and licensing requirements and replacing it with their own. Also it's written in java.

It sounds like there may be something to be gained by cutting them off. Ten more years of damage to you, your wife, and your children is a lot. What does continuing to put up with them get you?
