Death usually lasts longer than a few months, though...

You need to double up on the costume teeth. One pair for your upper and one for your lower jaw.

A pyramid doesn't inherently have a wide base. See Transamerica pyramid as example.

I'd argue Wh is a complete waste. Just use J, which is the much more established unit.

Enough for what? Your sense of vengeance? I don't know, only you can tell... Enough for rehabilitation? I don't know, but it is possible. Time needed for rehabilitation varies widely. It's quite possible the year was enough. One thing we do know is that the Netherlands is heavily in favour of rehabilitation over punishment, since rehabilitation actually forwards society

Can you, though? Can you lick a gas? Am I licking the atmosphere when I stick my tongue out?

Plenty of them are also so rare that there isn't enough of them to form any lickable matter; solid, liquid or gaseous.

Some have such an incredibly short half-life, you cannot lick it before it decays into something else.

It's called a pseudopupil. It's the part of the compound eye that's collinear with your line of sight. As you said, the light is absorbed there and registered by the dragonfly. The surface of the rest of the eye is at an angle and reflects light from the surrounding, which makes it look brighter.
