The US is going to need some kind of second reconstruction era and de-nazification once it gets out of this insanity. IF it ever gets out of this tailspin.

I think this is a huge problem with democracy as well. The larger a country, the worse democracy works. Any apparatus of power or wealth attracts parasites only interested in exploiting it. And the larger the lever, the more profit from manipulating it. And the larger the potential gain the more investment costs can you justify.
This isn't necessarily an argument for "states rights" or federation though, with "divide and conquer" strategies you can copy and paste the same strategy to multiple instances. If there is monetary gain to be had, there will always be an unrelenting force trying to exploit it.
You have my deepeds thats for pointing thank out
I'm pissed at reddit but I still hate searching for something and finding a post on reddit discussing it, only to find some of the posts being deleted or overwritten.
They could also be manufacturing the crisis and then taking advantage of this. Like mobbing the good cops to leave and then to be able to say "crisis!" and recruit more fascist cops.
Ahhh I'm just kidding there are no god cops and these guys aren't that smart ;)
Is this just political theater or is this guy planning to recruit brownshirts into the police force?
This is somehow reminiscent of how the nazis came to power, including the milktoast reporting by mainstream media. If they continue to inject their brand of fascists into the system they'll slowly gain more and more power and win.
Oh wow thanks for the detailed answer! I guess the most likely answer is that it probably will degrade over a long time span, and during that time negative effects could happen.
It's a shit show either way. I remember when vaping started, it was pretty awesome that it was unregulated and a lot of experimentation, discussion and "consumer led" development.
The regulations and outright bans on vaping pushed by the WHO were and still are concessions to puritanical thinking (no harm reduction for smokers!) or support for nicotine replacement therapies (much less effective like patch). And of course they also lead to a few big companies being able to afford the regulations (big tobacco) now being able to compete against smaller companies (less competition).
But of course without any regulations, sooner or later you have other "big whatever" corporations pushing shitty unsafe products. And once money is flowing they will always lobby and capture the legislation to improve profit instead of competition or better quality or safer products.
Regulations are a major form of power that is very badly managed. The economic power / money behind this leads to major distortions and corruption. In many cases new ideology is being crafted by PR campaigns that have long term effects. We need to get some kind of democratic control into this, maybe like a fifth estate comprised of nerds that can act quickly and smartly and have no political or monetary incentive.

Ah damn you, I've been banned already just for viewing your comment!
This is so insane. It actually does look like the police officers completely freaked and just started blasting and then got into a kind of panicked frenzy.
Basically the only way to be safe from police is to not have windows or have bulletproof glass or some kind demilitarized zone so you can see who is coming without coming "out of cover". Have a video phone to talk to would be visitors.
Oh sorry I thought you were replying to the image above your comment :D
