If you are going to chess tournaments, you are past the point of getting your ass kicked in chess club. I said it on another thread, but if people are being demeaning and unsportsmanlike, they can get kicked out just as you would any other game. They do it for MTG, YGO and Pokemon TCG tournaments. Bullshittery about trans people aside, this is more of a systemic issue than anything else.

And these dickheads were thrown out for unsportsmanlike behavior? Nah, instead, let's put women in a bubble to protect them instead of encouraging positive behavior. It's still stupid and bigoted.

Edit: If you can throw someone out for unsportsmanlike behavior in a MTG, YGO, or goddamn Pokemon TCG tournament, you can throw someone out in chess. These people need to get with the times.

Yes. I do not understand why women are uncomfortable. Is it a vocal point by the competitors, or are the ruling body making assumptions because "woman fragile?"

Okay, but why does it make women uncomfortable? It's chess.

I understand enough about biology that AMAB people typically have more muscle mass, but unless we are talking about chess boxing (personally, I wouldn't step into a ring with any boxer, I would actually be killed), separating divisions by gender as opposed to skill level is stupid at best. Banning trans people is outright bigoted. There is no question. Unless the chess grand masters or whoever had that stupid idea think women are just, what, less strategically minded? Do they think women are more stupid than men? Why ban trans women AND strip them of their awards? Nah, this is bigotry in action.

Also, you saying you are on the taller side for cis women is a non-issue. You are a beautiful Amazonian babe, I'm sure.

Cool. Give it time, then. You remember the first time you went thru puberty? Rome wasn't built in a day, friend.

I'm going to a club/party/thing and I'm super excited! The kids are super supportive too. I bought a women's ticket to the event (5$ vs 40$), and then had anxiety, cuz while I dress the part, my face leaves a bit to be desired. It's too angular, and my facial hair grows back so fast. It's so dark, too, I hope my kid can help me cover it when he helps me do foundation and lipstick this evening. But, I emailed the organizer, and they basically said grats for coming out, we look forward to seeing you there, so that's super awesome!

I managed to find me the cutest kinda Gothic outfit at a thrift store that the cashier helped me put together, but the shoes are a bit hard to walk in. I need to practice walking and driving in fancier women's shoes! I've tried posting pictures here, b/c I think I look really good in it, but connect keeps saying posting pics isn't working?

Tonight is either going to be amazing, or I'm going to royally fuck it up by being too much of a wallflower. Let's hope I don't do the latter.

What? I said the opposite. If you're taller, your BMI should be lower. Look, idk what demons you're dealing with, but, ultimately, the decision to transition is up to you. Don't look to any of us weather you should be on hormones. It'll work. Again, dosage is probably ithe issue, and if you are at max dose? Talk to the doc about different meds.

If you think hormones aren't for you, that's fine too. But I am not qualified, and will not tell you positively or negatively weather you should be on hormones

I'm gonna parrot others and say that we aren't licensed professionals.

However...

Unless you are on the shorter side, 180ish should be fine, I think? It's about where I am currently, and I'm not flabby by any means. What do you mean you should have been denied HRT? Are you having health side effects? If the hormone treatment isn't being effective, talk to your doctor to increase your dose. I'm sure it's like other medications: BMI can affect dosage and absorption levels, and every body is different.

If you are concerned about your body image, the only thing any of us can really suggest is diet and exercise. Anecdotally, keto did wonders for a while, but at the end of it all, it all boils down to CICO, calories in vs calories out. Consume less sugars and breads, and try to use more calories than you are putting in.

At the end of it all, talk to your doctor. Maybe it's the delivery method? Perhaps see about changing to a different medication. Injections or patches might do better than pills.

My apologies. I still don't understand. Are you suggesting that women are too fragile to deal with men's posturing, or what? It's fucking chess. Unless someone is arguing there are blatant skill discrepancies between men an women, it still doesn't makes sense why there are divided tournaments. Is the argument women are less strategically minded, or what?

Well, my first senses of euphoria was shaving, removing that dysphoria. And wearing women's clothes. Not being wolfman any more and just being a normal person was exhilarating.

Recent euphoria? I paid for a women's ticket to an event. Felt anxiety, and messaged the event coordinator about the whole "I've been out for like a month and not very passing, and social anxiety cuz familial rejection."

They said, ya, women's ticket was right and 'grats on coming out. So that felt really nice, and I have an actual adult party/event to go to for the first time that isn't work related?! Not some kids birthday party?! I'm excited, scared, and scared I'm gonna fuck this up by being too introverted. I know you get out what you put into these kinda things. The first hurdle is out of the way, and I'm in the door, at least.

I mean, same? If I hadn't moved out of the bible belt ten ears ago... If my kids hadn't came out to me years ago... Well, I'd still be more miserable than I am now.

I can recognize the dysphoria and try to fight it instead of thinking I'm an ugly guy. I'm starting to recognize why I hate my body, and am slowly fighting back to find who I am, one shaved hair, one shirt, one necklace, one technique at at time.

Let's face it, we grew up in a time when trans people were ridiculed at best. Mrs Doubtfire, Ace Ventura. Thank god for the information age, that we can talk like this with complete strangers, and share ideas and positivity and support and love.
