July is the real indicator with API being turned off on June 30th. I don't think the protests themselves had a big enough drop off, but I have to assume a lot of folks have either left or use only desktop currently once that happened.

Single opinion echo chamber. I'm sure it'll work it's way back into the fold as folks break out into communities, but I think it's a very dangerous aspect of social media I hope we can get rid of eventually.
Most people don't actually give a crap and those of us that did probably already left. I think this is mostly what Reddit was banking on happening. The question remains whether those that have left also were contributing the most content through posts or comments which could make the site stale and in turn drive more people away.
The challenge here is the instructions were not very clear. All they said was go to college. They didn't tell you what to study, and it turns out there aren't a lot of jobs in medieval literature, gender studies, etc.
