Increase and tweak options (feddit.nl)
 

I've recently moved my mastodon instance off masto.host to a server I own. First thing I changed was the character limit and default UI (to Mastodon-Bird UI). But I was wondering about:

  • How to increase the maximum image per post limit.
  • How to change poll options, like maximum numer of answers.
  • How to increase the alt text character limit.

Maybe there are other cool options I forgot about but you want to share πŸ™‚

Does someone know which files to amend?

Comanche Peak adds years to operating licenses (www.ans.org)
 

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has renewed the operating licenses of Comanche Peak Units 1 and 2 for an additional 20 years.

Unit 1’s operating license now expires on February 8, 2050, and Unit 2’s on February 2, 2053.

The two-unit Comanche Peak nuclear power plant in Glen Rose, Texas, is operated by Luminant. Units 1 and 2 are pressurized-water reactors.

Unit 1’s initial license was issued on April 17, 1990, and was set to expire on February 8, 2030. Unit 2 was first licensed on April 6, 1993, with an expiration date of February 2, 2033.

The review: The review of Comanche Peak's license renewal application proceeded on two tracks, according to the NRC. A safety evaluation report was issued in March, and a final supplemental environmental impact statement was issued in April.

These documents, as well as other information regarding the renewal application, are available on the NRC website, which also contains information about the license renewal process.

Almost precisely 11 months ago, I started this Lemmy community as a way for people on nuclear reddit to find a new home. That didn't exactly turnout the way I thought. But despite that, today we're the biggest nuclear energy Lemmy community around!

So, you're then saying that nuclear is somehow more threatening to our future than fossil energy is? Wow. Thanks for being clear where you stand I guess.

Just for the record: fossil fuels not only change our planet's climate, it also kills millions of people each year due to air pollution.
