Nearly all countries do this. Even the regressive ones. It's one of the biggest reasons why pharma is a massive cash cow in the US, alongside the fact that we don't negotiate drug prices aside from a handful of drugs and only medicare/medicaid and only the past <4 years or so.

*must relocate to shithole work site with self funded relocation where labor rights have been repealed and report to duty 6 days a week for minimum 14 hour shifts. 20 for crunch time. We make 996 look like child's play!

The goal is to lower US labor costs to below European ones and more akin to the typical 50k/year indentured servitude india H1B worker salary.

FTFA:

Another Musk follower said that he should "open a school" to better train Americans, and then added, "We have brains."

"If you need a school, you’ve lost already," Musk replied.

You need a school? Get back to work peasant.

shortage of engineers? are you kidding me?

I know of two first degree of separation SWEs who can't land jobs. One worked at microsoft for like a decade.

FTFA:

Other followers accused Musk of simply not wanting to pay top talent what it's worth.

Bingo, got it in one. They don't want to pay american talent american wages, they want to pay all talent 3rd world country wages while they themselves pocket a 50 billion dollar contract.

Reddit is a place to promote product. This isn't product. Give it time and big lemmy servers will turn into reddit, but for now we get to enjoy a safe space.

Just keep pointing out the reality, that President Musk is really running the show, while puppet dumpy takes orders.

It's not new. Take a look at all the billionaires telling him what to do. He's not in charge.

Oh, so like when it goes the other way and the public decides someone is guilty long before they go to trial and prosecutors go after him anyway.

Big deal. The jury will decide one way or another and I will be very surprised that the highest charges will stick if they get normal people on the bench.

The fact that this guy had a manhunt out for him when people are murdered every day and nearly no resources are used at all to go after them is astounding. Just shows the law is there for the rich, not the rest of us.
