The current fallout developers aren't even staying true to the games anymore so my hopes aren't high for the series

From the outside looking in, it all seems a bit bonkers. Which is especially scary cause Canadian politics tends to follow y'all's political trends on a 5-7 year delay.

But yeah, the current state of the Republican party is absolutely the king of the heap in terms of crazy bullshit

Absolutely wild. I was prepared for the pettiness and the at best thinly-veiled white supremacy. But the number of GOP candidates in this article that straight up assaulted other GOP members shocked me. I still am flabbergasted at the state of American politics

I find articles like this so frustrating. It feels like it is aimed at being a wake-up call to the reader, but at the same time offers no solutions, no advice and still lays the blame at the feet of the average person for not doing enough. "What we have done to ourselves" is not advocate enough I guess?

Perhaps I'm not the target audience for the article. I grew up in an environmentally conscious home we'll before it was trendy and have been worried about climate change for as long as I can remember. It's hard to see an article like this as anything other than an effort to drive traffic...

I'd be happy to hear what others got out of the article if it was more positive than my read of it.

See OPs comment below with a link to the reference comic. Fair warning though, it's some unsettling shit.

Seriously. That article is all over the place to point I'm struggling to understand what the author's intended message was... It seems pro-strike, pro-union? But I kept waiting for a point that didn't come

Oh man, politics aside, this guy just seems like such a wiener... Who goes to a press conference and shit-talks someone's house as a talking point?

I feel upset with how bad I want this for every instance. I know that change can be good but I want my old creature comforts of when I was 19 and learning about the front page of the internet, chuck testa and maymays

I mean, it kinda sounds like you got hooked on the dopamine rush of social media and that you enjoy creative writing. I'd say all you need to do is channel that into more productive storytelling and you'll be well on your way to being a good writer. I'm certain there's creative writing communities out there that include roleplaying as part of it too. Creepypastas are all about that, albeit with a horror twist.

Maybe the throwaway nature made it safe to exercise your creative muscles so-to-speak ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've been thinking a lot about the immigration vs. housing debate and more and more it feels like our generations version of the immigration boogieman taking our jobs. We undeniably need reform to our housing market (maybe through an increase in medium density housing?) but I feel as though I've been seeing increasing push-back on the immigration policy, and while it's a very aggressive policy, it's feeling more and more like a smoke and mirrors game to keep us from demanding the changes we need from our government. But if I put on my cynical tinfoil hat, it's much easier to win an election with "immigrants bad" than with well planned housing reform.

It's refreshing to see an article that highlights why this immigration policy might be in place beyond the usual band-aid arguments about the economy I'm used to seeing

It feels as though politically and commercially sensitive are one and the same with this government unfortunately. Besides, nothing screams honesty and trustworthiness like declaring yourself the most honest and trustworthy.
