I charged my EV overnight from an overhead garage door power socket in my apartment for years before I moved out. Never even needed public charging. Many people just don’t realize you can charge from a normal household outlet

Yeah, that’s definitely not enough RAM to run any kind of lightweight UI. Especially not an automotive music remote control client 🤔

The 3rd gen Nest Thermostat also has 512MB of RAM, and it isn’t too much of a potato to be a thermostat, complete with animated UI. Author of this article has a severe lack of imagination

Interesting. I guess it does both

That is a proximity sensor. It allows the touch buttons on the bezel to light up when your hand approaches

Check out iOS Assistive Access. It greatly enlarges and simplifies the UI to cater to cognitive impairments

Agreed. 100% would not recommend going this route for a homelab, but it does meet every specified requirement

Used HP ProLiant. It’s nearly 10 years old, but has 16 cores 64GB of RAM, and is just under $150 with free shipping

The OLED TV probably only has HDMI. TVs don’t normally have DisplayPort

Mine is fully equipped, but the base model is approaching the $25k limit for the used EV tax credit, which gets you $4000 off. Depending on your tax situation, that ends up being a ~$20k car. Not quite as cheap as an older Model 3, but give it a few months, and it might be a viable option

US$36k before taxes and doc fees

Picked up a used 2022 Polestar 2 about 6 months ago for nearly half off. No regrets, because it’s an awesome car, and I strongly recommend it

I bought a 512 GB one of these 5 1/2 years ago, and it’s been reliable. The exception is when I hit ~10% free space a couple times. The drive immediately suffered from horrendous read times, and locked up my system. Worked fine when I freed up enough space. Nowadays, I only use it for extra Steam library storage, since I don’t trust it, but it hasn’t let me down since
