The US justice system unfortunately runs on emotion and punishment rather than rehabilitation, thanks in no small part to the whole privatized prison system. The average American would rather see someone suffer than get the help they need. This is a particularly strong mindset ironically among the conservative religious, but there are plenty of liberals who think that way too. This country needs reform on so many systems...

I make about $46k which is $24/H. Even living an hour north of LA it doesn't go very far.

Which is hilarious considering how many "good Christians" died for refusing the vaccine. Confirmation bias in action!

Someone else pointed out it's Leviticus 20:13. Fair! It should be noted though that passage was to Moses about Jewish law as it goes on to talk about not eating unclean animals, etc... which is generally ignored by Christians but your point stands

Well super easy to verify. Can you cite the verse where it says this?

I mean it's all make believe anyway but I don't recall the Bible actually condemning homosexuality. It condemns perversion, as in molestation or sexual assault, but doesn't say anything about homosexuality to my knowledge.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the '91 case wasn't adjusted for inflation? That would make it a little over 1 mil today
