Why should it be ads?

There are so many different ways to have some form of monetization that is not intrusive.

Running Ads is not the only way to keep the lights on.

I registered and got through yes.

I registered just before the influx of users from reddit I assume and I am gonna be honest I didn't put in a full essae.

I think Beehaw is a great instance who shows what the Fediverse can be and is about.

I love that they actually shout out 1 of the instances instead of Lemmy or Kbin as a whole.

It depends, how long until it will not be fun anymore to see every sub turned into a meme?

I give it 2 days. After that people will stop tuning in as regularly.

Also traffic != money in regards of advertisers.

If traffic increases but the engagement lowers then that is a death blow to reddit.

The metric that got posted 1-2 days ago that engagement was cut down from 31 to 17 seconds during/after the blackout is huge and a metric the advertisers will look at.

This is the thing;

I don't mind to pay for services, I don't mind to pay for extra's as long as the money goes to the people doing the work and the people doing the work increase or maintain the user experience of said service.

The whole "you just want free stuff" people were shouting on Reddit is a bunch of balony.

  • Hosting costs money
  • Infrastructure costs money
  • Developing costs money
  • Maintenance costs money

All the above also costs time.

So of course it is okay for people to donate or have some monetization possibilities to keep the lights on and getting paid for the work they do so they can make a full time living from it or use it as a part time gig.

But there is still a difference size rift between the above and trying to monetize every single thing from your platform/user base just because of greed.

It is a money grab. Most of the time those 4 week diets are full of sugar and just badly balanced in macro nutrients overall.

It is also way easier to set up an healthy meal plan for yourself than people think ;).

This is the way, well done!

(If you still eat some meals ;))

The word here is indeed supplementing!

I like that I see the disclaimer about it being an addition and not an replacement more and more on the products that you can buy like protein shakes, protein bars and such.

They should be an addition to your meals/diet and not an replacement.

Of course there is no harm in replacing 1 meal a day for a shake or such if one feels like it but all meals is not gonna help in the long run and isn't giving enough variety in your nutrition.

But indeed like you said, they are good as supplements!

I used "F1 lemmy" multiple times in google already and the top post(s) were links to the F1 lemmy.

It works.
