There is a reason the "forbidden fruit" concept was chosen for inclusion in religious texts. :)

I would only get the high end Zen 5 X3D variants if they have the cache on both CCDs. AFAIK, gaming performance can actually be worse when one CCD has the X3D cache and the other one doesn't (like in 7950X3D).

To my knowledge this hasn't been confirmed yet.

This is assuming money is not an issue, otherwise definitely just save the cash. You should be more than fine even for CPU intensive games (city-builder, transport simulation, tycoons).

Do you have multi-cores sensitive use cases? If yes, then sure.

If not, you aren't really going to using the capabilities of those chips.

This hasn't been said just once though.

What is the point of this article?

DRAM-less is definitely no go in the premium SSD segment.

You could try and translate the images in the article.

Agreed. I wish the source page had a better summary of the research paper.

The bill of materials is essentially an estimation of how much the parts that make up the smartphones cost - obviously these completely exclude R&D and marketing costs, it's important to keep in mind.

That's nothing. Wait till you have crypto-miner malware that infects such devices.

Or better yet, we get a sentient AI that figures out how it can leverage crypto-miner malware for its own needs.

It's all about the price. You need a use case where the bezel and gpio power doesn't matter.

The project is not happening, Intel is no clearly in position to handle such an expansion.
