The fear of water is a neurological symptom; when those show up rabies is almost guaranteed to be fatal. Assuming this wasn't a troll post, they wouldn't need to worry about going to the doctor (or rather, not) for much longer anyway.

I have to think it's a troll, to mention a fear of water is one thing but it's too knowing to relate it to a dog bite.

You can see a couple of patches where the original text has been erased but not entirely.

The second paragraph looks slightly different too. Smaller font, less spacing.

This is the internet though and it doesn’t lie

Appropriate username is appropriate :P True, and I didn't notice the clearly erased remains of the original post, either. A derp is me.

If it wasn't a troll it would be on the news once the kid died.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

I doubt that would make the news, but I feel like it has to be a troll.

My child is afraid of water, could it be due to this completely unrelated thing that just so happens to be related if you know anything about rabies.

This is very fake or very much a troll.

It may not be fake. There's a fairly new disorder called ARFID that the kid may be dealing with.

It's worth talking to a pediatrician in this situation.

Edit: but actually, the image definitely seems doctored.

[–] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.world 17 points 5 months ago

I hope it's fake, but that's textbook rabies my friend. Once you've hit that point, you should still talk to a pediatrician but it's just to make them comfortable, it's too late.

Poor kid's gonna have a miserable death and this bitch will just keep on praying

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 12 points 5 months ago

Either way, when symptoms like that show up, there is no way to save the person's life

At the same time, there are people like that.

Satire is dead, we killed it.

Yeah, but no one is going to connect the fear of water with the dog bite unless they know what rabies is.

Satire isn't dead, it's just that 90% of people are blind to it unless it has "THE ONION" all over it. Then only 80% of people are blind to it.

I mean it kinda feels like a joke at the expense of religious nut jobs.

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 22 points 5 months ago

I'm hoping that this is fake, but given my faith in humanity, I would not be surprised.

[–] drolex@sopuli.xyz 13 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Oh no it's a case of dogborne alcoholism, also known as updog boozing 😔

🐶 not much, u?

[–] KISSmyOSFeddit@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

All she could pray for is a quick death.

This parent has neglected her child so horribly that they're going to die.

[–] JokeDeity@lemm.ee 4 points 5 months ago

I can only hope fake, but there's no shortage of morons.

[–] lowleveldata@programming.dev 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I like how they think there is a prayer for everything like it's a spell or sth

[–] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 12 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I like how you think this is real.

[–] lowleveldata@programming.dev 1 points 5 months ago

Isn't it more interesting to assume it's real for the sake of discussion?

[–] logan_hero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 months ago

Of course the top answer is "dogs jinxed the child", internet never changes
