United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
I need to do mine. I have loads of low value ones from Postcrossing days, so that'll be fun for somebody (possibly me if I need to specify the value)
Out of interest, what made you stop Postcrossing? I used to do it a lot, but the huge increase in stamp prices made me knock it on the head.
Partly that, and partly because I wound it down when I moved house, and never restarted (even through lockdown)
Okay, fair enough!
Honestly can't remember the last time I even used a stamp.
I'm still not sure of the purpose of the barcode, why it's needed and if anyone actually uses it.
I’m no philatelist, but the new stamps with the 2D barcode slapped on the side look rather ugly.
Christmas stamps are exempt from the switchover if anyone has a stash of them left from Christmases past.
