They took the buffet out of KFC and Shoney's been dead for years.

Someone had to pick up the slack, and a good buffet goes great with the peanuts.

Shoney's still exists, fyi. I stopped at one a few years ago and they still had the (breakfast) buffet--it was just like it was when I was a kid.

Last time I was in FL for work I absolutely destroyed the Shoneys breakfast buffet. Just give me a huge plate of scrambled eggs ans a second huge plate of bacon and I'm a happy man.

...and the south has piss poor healthcare for the folks gobbling down that crap.

I think I see a vegetable! All the way to the right, second container down, that shit might be green beans!

If so, I’m suing this location for putting that filth out for consumption and for trying to tell me I may not be eating healthy. >:((

C'mon man. There's veggies there.

Corn dog, tater tots, French fries

The cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast

[–] cowfodder@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Could be some fried okra in there somewhere.

The “nobody” meme is incredibly dumb. It barely even makes sense.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I think the first time it was some clever little thing, but has been misunderstood and overused to the point that it's lost all meaning, even to the degree that I can't recall the original.

[–] Zeppo@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I oppose it because it is encapsulates poor grammar: “nobody says nothing”. The proper label would be “everybody else”, not nobody. And yeah, most of the time it’s completely superfluous.

[–] 0ops@lemm.ee 2 points 5 months ago

It's playing off the phrase "nobody asked for this", hence why "nobody" has no dialogue asking for this.

And it's delicious too

[–] pickman_model@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 months ago

Hey,! but not all is fried there. There is some pulled pork, which is a healthy , delicious, and nutritious alternative. Yum!

[–] KISSmyOSFeddit@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

I'll have 2 pounds of beige, please.

[–] applepie@kbin.social 1 points 5 months ago

Nothing wrong with deepfried food, we all love.

But come on guys! That can't be the only thing haha wtf

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago (2 children)

So, fried wheat with a variety of meat flavorings, surprise meat, oil-preserved mashed potatoes...

Is that pineapple? What is something like that doing on this image?

[–] CaptnNMorgan@reddthat.com 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Unless you were talking about the corn dogs, the mystery meat is probably just pulled pork

[–] ivanafterall@kbin.social 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

"Just" pulled pork, he says. Just pulled pork.

[–] CaptnNMorgan@reddthat.com 2 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

Are you implying it is mystery meat? Or that I devalued pulled pork? If it's the latter I agree and apologize to meat enthusiasts everywhere.

[–] ivanafterall@kbin.social 2 points 5 months ago

Definitely the latter, but it is also gas station pulled pork, so it could go either way.

[–] ivanafterall@kbin.social 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I think the pineapple is macaroni and cheese?

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

Oh, ok, that fits much better.
