I brushed this boy's teeth and lived to tell the tale, winning.

Please kiss him on top of his furry little head for me.

What a face 😻 he needs a squish to hug.

Oh my goodness!!!! So cute!

Miss Meow managed to knock her toy completely upside down whilst flying past doing zoomies. Apparently being upside down makes it very interesting and mysterious again.

Gibson does the exact same thing! She won't acknowledge it's existence until I turn it upside down and suddenly, new toy!

Curious to see if this is a "me" thing or not. so does anyone else when they make a new mate become like low key obsessed for a bit? or not obsessed but like, the social anxiety just dial up a couple of notches? just for like the first couple of days of the proper mateship. Then it always settles down. Like every time your phone buzzes your like "Oh, I hope its X person". and when they take a bit to reply you go "Oh, did I message them too many times? did I say something weird?" when you know they're probs just busy.

Honestly it's been so long since I made new friends I can't really remember.

Sad brain day today. Feeling very unloved and missing my ginger boy so much i want to bawl

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 5 points 5 months ago

You go ahead and bawl. Unless this upsets the other cats of course.

The cat has been real picky lately. Turned his nose up at his usual wet food, so I've been trying other brands/flavours.

Seem to have settled on salmon patΓ©, and will try the salmon in gravy later on.

Finicky, picky little Mickey

Edit: the accused in question, all comfy on my partner's legs

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Oh Mickey you’re so picky 🎢 I don’t understand why you won’t eat this can

I had my covid booster yesterday. Free from Chemist Warehouse (probably lots of other places too), got an easy online booking within 48 hours, was straight in and out when I got there and the pharmacist was lovely. No side effects except a sore arm.

Hospitalisations are rising again, get on it if you're due for a jab (if it's been more than 12 months).

Survived the move. Of which more later.
Now on hold to Cennalink while they try to sort out what to do about the inheritance business.

I have a ton of crows in my back yard having some sort of cawing competition. Is this a sign of something? Should I be worried? I've also had a black cat cross my path...

[–] tone212_@aussie.zone 5 points 5 months ago (3 children)

This has been happening at my place too sans the black cat sighting. They're so loud as well. I don't know what attracts them here.

Clearance Kmart sketch kit arrived yesterday. The first thing I cracked into was the sandpaper sharpening board. It's really small and the wooden backing is chipboard but it's a vast improvement on trying to smooth/taper pencil leads with a pack of emery boards. (Doable but awkward and very easy to start honing at the wrong angle. They were previously all that was on hand and it was a hassle to buy sandpaper alone.)

The amount of moisture I essentially mopped off my bedroom window this morning was revolting.

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 5 points 5 months ago (3 children)

I feel this in soul. So much condensation here too, I'll have to keep an eye out for any mold πŸ˜‘

works had this thing blow up that I warned them would blow up last year. Really struggling to pretend to give a shit. Its got real "OH No! the consequences of our own actions!" kinda vibes.

There's a stall at my local farmers market specialising in gluten free stuff and I have spent all day today thinking about the hot pie I am gonna have for breakfast tomorrow. It's the little things

[–] Mittens_meow@aussie.zone 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Eat a pie for me!! It’s hard to find good gf stuff.

Assignment done! 3 days and 2 hours overdue and it wasn't my best work.

But the most important thing is that it's done, I should get some kind of grade for it that is a bit higher than a zero, and I'll be getting feedback on it.

Now onto studying for my exam.

If anyone remembers an old tool song called Pushit and wants to hear a not bad version I did the other night, there's the link.

I used to perform singing and playing guitar for a couple of years when I got sober, but stopped singing and focused on guitar.

Trying to get back into it now. Always open to criticism, constructive or otherwise!

I decided to treat myself to a burger tonight.

I can’t move now after this.

That was half an hour ago. I beat the bin trucks again. Stupid brain roosters.

They're repaving my road, but it seems nobody told the garbos, which has led to some rather interesting noises this morning...

Actually they didn't tell anyone on my street, so it's led to some very interesting noises. And lots of beeping

This week the man was nominated as worker of the month. So he spun the big wheel. Literally. And won a $50 card to spend. Question is do I spend it on food, beer or fuel?

Work relationships are so complicated.

My co-worker/superior spoke badly to someone I'm friends with and unfortunately also at the same time spoke for me.

Had to go during my break to apologise for it all I suppose explain a few things and whatnot.

Incident involved a really rudely delivered snappy comment about being busy but it came off really badly I felt.

Anyway I don't understand why she snapped like she did and I couldn't explain it and often I see double standards about things.

Just need to get through the rest of the day now trying to maintain the peace.

I was wondering why I wake up in morning with a body battery of 10% and sometimes 90% (according to my watch) even though I get the same amount and quality of sleep.

So I'm doing experiments and found it mainly comes down to night snacking. The more snacks and/or closer to bedtime equals lower body battery in the morning. No snacks equals higher body battery in the morning.

Interesting. I will keep experimenting.

Soooo when a road that people live on gets closed for roadworks, are they meant to like... tell the people that live on it? Because the first I'm hearing of them ripping up and repaving our road is when they parked a gigantic machine in front of our driveway at 7am that's making an absolute shit ton of noise. The housemate has a car that nobody told him he wouldn't be able to take out of the driveway either...

It's not on VicTraffic, they never put anything in our letterbox, and the council's project construction page says nothing's happening in the area
