Solved:

The dev updated the theme (I am using Kripton https://github.com/EliverLara/Kripton)

So I want to get rid of these grey boxes that got added to everything in the overview. They are in the bar as shown in the image, they are in every text in the overview search as well.

For my taste it is disgustingly ugly. And I can't find where I can make it go back to normal.

What distro are you using? Extensions? Themes? Stock GNOME 46 does not look like this.

Yeah the theme I was using with gnome 45 now makes this happen. weird.

That would be it, GNOME 46 moved a lot of things around and GNOME 45 themes are no longer working.

This is the reason why the GNOME team discourages third party themes.

I am using Manjaro. I will remove all extension and themes and check again. Thanks!

Oof Manjaro loves to add some... tasteless additions. The shell theme is definitely your problem.

IMO the only non-stock shell theme that's acceptable is Ubuntu's Yaru as it has been tested for accessibility and contrast, and is 100% supported by Canonical.

I will check it out. It is just I think this themeI use is so pretty haha.

But again, thank you very much, I was very upset and you are really cool. TY
