Steamed broccoli stems with a satay dipping sauce on the side. Please no florets of the broccoli

Repotted my manzano but made a total mess of the living room when I picked up a lemon plant (that wasn't doing anything) by the stem - despite knowing better - and the whole thing came out, scattering wet potting mix all over the place and onto my couch ๐Ÿ˜ญ

But it's all been tidied up. Made a decent dinner of pasta with tuna, roast fennel (the last! I swear!), roast Brussels sprouts, and a "cheesy" sauce of nutritional yeast and pasta water with a splash of soy milk. Clothes are in, dishwasher loaded, shower had, and... I simply can't handle any more responsibility for the day.

I did finally pick the scotch bonnets, but I can't even think about that right now. someone ferment them for me idk why I'm so lazy to just throw them in brine.

juicy lil chillos

a bowl of lil yellow hot peppers!

Closing out the evening with an episode of tales from the loop - the writing may be uneven, but the VIBES of this show are just perfect. On episode 6 tonight. This is such a good one... heart breaking.

Edit: looked at the forecast ahead - goddamnit I should've washed my sheets and towels this weekend. I still don't want to buy a dryer though... the sun is free...

I love the stripes in all the aurora pictures.

I find the term "fartbox" extremely vulgar.

That's presidential language. ๐Ÿคญ

How is it Sunday night and Iโ€™m so tired still. Not ready for another week, especially extra office days with no life ๐Ÿ˜ซ

It's been a weird day. I napped through most of it and had a gnarly nightmare.

Also sharpening graphite pencils last night with a plastic handled boxcutter to practice has kind of left me with a soreness/blister on my non-dominant thumb (where I use it on the back of the blade to give an added push). Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I've definitely had to learn to take smaller thinner flatter slices and work more slowly backwards from the tip but perhaps the blade is still a bit dull or I'm doing it in a way that needs more force.

I also keep nicking/scraping the lead but holding the blade flatter and moving it rapidly up and down isn't really removing the slivers of wood from the core like the book says it will. Maybe the smaller thinner slices mean the wood doesn't just get fully chipped off. But bigger slices need more force and risks chipping or breaking the lead which only goes up with the more delicate charcoal pencils. In fact I think I did a slightly better job when I first started out on the charcoal pencils from random Youtubes and an old craft knife.

I'm now watching a different video and switching up thumbs for a slightly different technique. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5_13OFfjas
