Everyone online seems to have a fun DnD group. Where should one even start when trying to find a fun DnD group?

If you have like-minded friends, start your own. Even if none of you have ever played before, there are plenty of resources online to help you figure it out.
If not, local game stores will often have bulletin boards where groups post that they're looking for players or players post that they're looking for a group. If the store has space to play, you can sometimes even join in on games there.
Or if you don't mind playing online ( personally I don't care for it) you can sometimes find a game to join on sites like roll20.
Online tabletops are a great resource for those who like using them, and were great for Covid, but I agree. There's just something missing when you're not sitting around a table with your friends.

DM: you succeed.

That Coleman lantern. I have a green one from the 70s that runs on "Coleman fuel", which is probably kerosene or something close to it. The thing is hella bright once it gets dark out, but I still happily drag it around with me when I go camping.
I got a green one too from the 60s. This red one is from the 50s.
I rebuilt the red one and did the exhaust putty mod on the fuel/air mix tube so it wouldn't smell during use.
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten the new valve stem to stop leaking yet.
Coleman fuel is closer to naptha or gasoline without additives. Kerosene isn't voltatile enough so it would be hard to start. They did make models that ran on kerosene, but they had a preheater cup at the bottom of the generator tube that you'd fill with alcohol and light to preheat the generator to help the kerosene evaporate.
