For a moment I thought it was Columbia University and was a little shocked by the reversal. After correcting myself: it's good to hear another nation is drawing some lines in the sand regarding behavior. Rules of war should mean something.

I should have realized an entire nation cutting ties for a genocide was more likely than a university just not investing in it.
I thought the same. Of course not though, the college sicced the dogs on those students.
Back when Colombia had a far-right government surrounded by leftist ones, Chavez called it the "israel of Latin America" for being a US puppet. Fascinating how things can change.
Israel isn't the US' puppet though.
It's the other way around.
You should read Against Empire by Michael Parenti to understand the motives behind US foreign policy. It is not that Isreal has their hand up our ass. As then Senator Biden once said, "Were there not an Israel, the United States of America would have to invent an Israel to protect her interests in the region."
I really think you'd find that Parenti book a fascinating read.
I've heard that a lot, and apparently most people understand it for what it really means.
It means that Israel is necessary to suppress cultures that do not align with Western values.
Notice how the West gets Israel to keep tabs on its enemies, but its enemies don't get something similar to keep tabs on the West? It's all about suppression and dominance.
It is not the other way around, though that is a standard antisemitic trope: that the Jews control the world.
Israel is America’s unsinkable aircraft carrier in West Asia. As Biden has been saying for decades, “Were there not an Israel, the United States of America would have to invent an Israel to protect her interest in the region.”
I agree but I will say AIPAC seems to have tremendous influence on the US government
Economic power supercedes everything else. On what basis would a weaker, less wealthy country "control", a much stronger one?
They both have a hand up each other's ass IMHO.
Idiot
Lmao I wonder if it was intentional to say this during the Columbia university protests and troll amerikkka
Based.
Good. I wish the US would follow suit.
We waste so much money supporting religious nationalists.
It's by design.
