The town next to me is trying to mandate ADUs be built with 200 amp electrical service “because climate” which drives up the cost.
They’re also trying to force ADUs under their extremely restrictive tenant protections, so if you rent to a bad tenant, it’ll take years and tens of thousands of dollars to get them out of your back yard.
It’s a total suckers game that’s window dressing to cover for decades of failed NIMBY housing policy.
Great I've always wanted to live in some asshole's shed.
I don't want to build an ADU because it will double my property taxes. Instead I'm building an addition that is attached to the same building.
