I don't draw very often, but when I do I surprise complete strangers with pictures of their pets

Just bought a bit of local art so I'll have a tiny bit of the border at home. Man, I'd live up here if I could.

Gooood morning! I feel HEAPS better today - maybe it's that feeling you get when any improvement after being sick feels way better than it is. I had the same experience when I had covid tho, had a day of feeling great then crashed again and got worse. Fingers crossed today is not false hope! The sun is really helping! ๐ŸŒž

I'm putting all the car stuff on hold because I realise it was a huge source of stress and anxiety and unpleasantness that I need a break from (and everything essential has been set up - aside from maybe the dashcam. I feel naked without one).

Instead I'm turning my attention to my hideously neglected plants... they were becoming a source of shame and my seedlings I paid money for are horribly wilted and sad. Well, they're currently being resuscitated in a saucer of water and everything else is getting several drinks to revive the potting mix. I can turn this around! These seedlings aren't dead, and I have plenty of new seeds to start planting!

Also, need tips on what to do with a whole heap of scotch bonnet peppers... I grew the plant without really thinking of how much I'd actually want to use ๐Ÿค” I have like 30 little yellow dudes. Maybe this is the time I try making hot sauce?

peppers!!

Huh. Apparently I'm not crazy. My random allergies/reactions plus issues with scent could be related to an autoimmune disorder.

Last year I planted a spare eggplant seedling in a patch of ground that doesn't really get enough sun. Today it thanked me with two eggplants ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ† (real vegetable eggplants for all you gutter-minded people).

Just had shouty man in kew on high street yell at me "YOU LOOK LIKE A FUCKIN' 1970's PORNO STAR" as I walked past. Yelled it about 5 times.

Now when dudes say they never get compliments it's not always true.

[โ€“] just_kitten@aussie.zone 5 points 6 months ago

Hey dude! That's my shouty man!

Good on you for actually deciphering what he was saying, I usually can't make head or tail except for the odd word here or there.

The below photo was taken back in January 2023, just moments after I signed the papers for the tortoiseshell and the tabby/white on the right hand side.

Somehow, they knew this would be the final moments they would see each other ever again.

I was driving through Rutherglen when I had the thought to buy dad a bottle of port because apparently that area is famous fortified wine country. Went to the top winery google suggested but they didn't have any, but the guy there pointed me towards another winery up a back road and I ended up getting a lesson and impromptu tastings from the very friendly lady there at Chambers Rosewood Vineyards. Turns out fortified wines are pretty nice!

Well getting up when the energy was buzzing was the right strategy - I've burned through the sorting and clearing so the old bed which was used as a general sorting spot is cleaned off, the bedside table which I'll be using as a TV stand temporarily is cleaned out, and I have a stack of stuff ready to go to the op shop.
I'm at the zombie stage so I've just crawled back into bed and hopefully I'll get some more sleep.

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 7 points 6 months ago

Let the laundry begin

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 6 months ago

that time of the morning when the sun has just come up but all the stars are still out is so lovely

[โ€“] oztrin@aussie.zone 6 points 6 months ago

I'm obviously at the "wake up at odd hours buzzing with energy" state of Operation Sort Shit. Hmm.
Anyway woke up at 2:50 >.< and gave up at about 3 and got up to sort things out ~~and fiddle around on Sims 2 which is all my ancient laptop will run.~~ Am starting to feel sleepy so will keep on until I start seriously sagging.

@Seagoon_ @melbourne Quiet Saturday night in. Wifey and the fur babies are all fast asleep already.

We ended up having Korean for dinner tonight (instead of last night), it was spicy and delicious.

I've also done the washing for the week and changed the beds.

Next week will be busy. We're going to a concert Tuesday night, and I'm taking Thursday and Friday off. Wifey has a surprise planned for Thursday too.

Is anyone else around?

The Aldi gluten-free fish bites are yum. And the directions on the packet accurate. Recommend.

Sitting eating a lovely breakfast at Corowa Distilling Co. which is a whisky distillery & chocolatier.

If you're nearby it's worth a visit. Gorgeous place.

I have photos but I don't want to photo dump so just check out my eggs benny.

That weird time of day where I want to do nothing at all but also something because otherwise I'll go to sleep. Maybe I'll go do the groceries...

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 6 months ago

TIL you can't post the new thread early, even if it's only a few seconds early

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

This is really weird. My kindle just reset itself, and most (not all, which is even weirder) of my books are gone. Including the one I was halfway through
