Hello im new to the CG method, i wanted to ask questions to the community but since we cant create more posts in the reddit well i will try there.

So basically i tried the whole curly girl method but at the end when i “break the hardness” of the hair when the gel is dried my hair cause a lot of flakes, and also how to avoid frizziness ? my hair deal with it a lot and its so annoying, i think gel might work but rn it cause a lot of flakes. thank you in advance for your help

PS : the type of hair im trying to achieve is the messy fringe haircut for males picture :

Also if there is a easier way to discuss with the community such as a discord or something please send me the invite thank you

What gel are you using? I don't usually see flaking anymore with modern styling products. Maybe just try a different gel - letting it set up hard then breaking the cast really does fight the frizz better than other methods of styling curly hair.

On your other question, I have no idea if there is a curly hair discord, sorry.

thank u for ur answer my gel is made for the CG method, but i do think i might know where the problem is, the leave in isnt from the same brand so it might cause issues

It's possible that the products you are using don't work well together and are flaking once dry. I think this happens when one product is negatively charged and the other is positively charged. This is why some people prefer to use products from the same line since they are often designed to work well together.

It's hard to give specific advice without knowing what your hair is like in it's natural state. Is your frizz caused by humidity or do you think the frizz is caused by scrunching your hair and the products not holding your hair well enough?

Maybe try a curling cream or pomade intead of gel. I've never heard of a gel that leaves flakes but then again I don't use gel because I don't like the feel of it.
