Would younlike to share your ncmpcpp and mpd config,I actually had a hard time configuring it.

For sure:

mpd.conf

ncmpcpp config

Make sure you edit the username in both files and follow the instructions for setting up mpd and creating the required configs. The Arch Wiki gives a good rundown.
