/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ **8. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

If Pike makes Kirk look like an aggressive wildcard, Reynolds would make Kirk look like a bank clerk. The running theme in the show would be how, each episode, he barely dodges a court marshal for whatever he did.

I swear by my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you.

You've just made me realize how much I want a Star Trek Excalibur mini series.

[–] raynethackery@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Who would you cast as Calhoun?

No clue. I honestly don't watch that much TV anymore. A younger Richard Dean Anderson might have been interesting in the role. Who to cast for Burgoyne though, half of the out non-binary actors are already in modern Trek, lol. (Also kudos to Peter David for the non-binary representation in the 90s, wow.)

Which would cause more mayhem, Malcom Reynolds, just trying to survive, or Katherine Janeway getting coffee?

Edit: also it's Court Martial. As in Martial (Military) Court. The Marshalls aren't coming to arrest you in Starfleet, no guarantee of that in the 'verse I suppose

[–] sxan@midwest.social 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

How are you accuse me of trying to spell!

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

They're trying to (cast a) spell! They're a witch or wizard! Burn the heretic!

You should replace the Starfleet badge with a ~~Stargate~~ Battlestar Galactica one.

Edited because I realized the BSG badge would be less obvious and goes in the same place on the uniform. Stargate patches go on the shoulder, not the chest. If you replaced the delta with a lieutenant badge, you'd need a keen eye to notice it.

[–] Quacksalber@sh.itjust.works 8 points 7 months ago (3 children)

Stargate is already represented in this picture

Good point. Another reason to go BSG.

Well either I am missing thr detail or you fooled me into zooming in and searching for 5 minutes.

Edit: nevermind, I clearly need a second cup of coffee.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

Babylon 5 also has chest bars

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 17 points 7 months ago (3 children)

Does this look like TrekWarsGateFly memes to you?!

[–] jawa21@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I apologize, sir. This is season 36 of Star Trek: V

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago (1 children)
[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 7 months ago

Season 2, sub part 3, titled "the last episode" episode 4.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

No, it looks like TrekWarsGateFlyGalacticaHitchhikerDwarf5 memes to me with both God Emperors just doing their things

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

Let's just cut out all of this nonsense and just make Flash Gordon memes.

[–] zloubida@lemmy.world 12 points 7 months ago (2 children)

You know what the chain of command is???

[–] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

The mistake Whedon made was not slapping Star Trek or Star Wars branding on it. They could have gotten 5 seasons like Disco.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Captain Reynolds wouldn't do well in Starfleet, though I suppose you could make him Maquis

[–] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I was thinking more like they just say it's Star Trek but make the show identical to Firefly.

It was a reference about how Disco wasn't anything like Trek other than they called it Star Trek. A similar thing was done with Foundation and Dirk Gently. It's not like Dirk Gently was bad. I really liked it. But it had absolutely nothing in common with the books.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Gotcha. Haven't seen Discovery, so I didn't realize it was not really a trek show

[–] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 7 months ago

If you want to rile up a fandom that these types of images usually don't include, change the quote to "I never could get the hang of Thursdays."

[–] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 4 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (2 children)

I don't get it. Why did you put the guy from Red Dwarf in front of the moon?

EDIT: I'll be annoyed in Harrison Ford actually is in Red Dwarf and spoils my joke, I've never actually seen it

[–] 1371113@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

If only your username was rimmer

[–] BluesF@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

I'm pretty sure he plays the robot, actually. Yknow, Terminator.

[–] stoicmaverick@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

No. Your going to the fun hell, with blackjack and hookers.

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

You mean he wasn't playing a Vulcan in Serenity?
