Well it was once recorded, so it was heard at the time. Then it was lost or forgotten until recently.

But if we have to bury it again for the sake of pedantry, alright.

In the documentary 808, the Belgian house producers Soulwax claim to have found the TR-808 drum machine Gaye used to record Sexual Healing with in a studio in Belgium, with the original drum patterns still in its memory.

That was a fascinating documentary. I had no idea they had to stop making 808’s because Roland could no longer source the discarded transistors which gave it’s unique sound. I had a 606 but it was never the same
