One of the most notable differences between both versions of Baldur's Gate 3 is that the PS5 version appears to be graphically dated based on trailers shown by Sony. While this might not reflect the final game due to being in early access for several years, it would be disappointing to console fans who wanted visual parity with the final PC version.

Where the differences get interesting is how each version plays. Since the game was built with a keyboard and mouse in mind, practically all functions needed to be adapted for ease of use on a controller.

I think they already have nailed the controller scheme with DOS2. I don't think they have to change much for BG3.

And with DOS2 they first released the game on PC and PS4 release came a year later so it might had been that they worked on porting UI, while with BG3 they might have been working on UI with console in mind from scratch. Add to that experience from DOS2, I'm betting it'll be great.

100% agree. Loved the feel of DOS2 on controller. Everything just worked.

This game is going to be big. I am a Larian fan since DOS, and DOS2. I have a PS5, but will play Baldur's Gate 3 on my Linux Gaming PC. I have been replaying Divinity 2 with the controller because I think it will work similar with BG3. I had forgotten all how good DOS 2 looked and the quality of the story and little touches that make the game feel very special (Love Buddy the dog). Or how many different ways there are to do stuff. Larian is great at making you feel your choices matter. I am so excited for Baldur's Gate 3.

The Stadia version included both control types. Personally I proffered the gamepad controls.

I've always been inclined to controllers myself. Once I switched over to them as a wee child there was no turning back. Other than RTS games, I still feel those play best with a mouse.
