A biochemist commanding a dungeon could actually be fire though, dude would have so many resources on his side to work with plus generic mutations and enhancements for monsters right?

You have to finish this dungeon to get the molecular scissors that allows you to mutate and go past the poisonous atmosphere in the next continent.

There is a graphic novel called "Dungeon" in which a duck (Herbert) is working as a handyman in a dungeon (cleaning the dead adventurers, rearming the traps, feeding the gouls ...)

This is exactly the kind of characters we can find in the serie. The disillusioned manager stuck in this dungeon job.
