Google was fully owned by the Chinese Government back in 2009. As a result Google pulled out of China.

Edit: I just want to add you always want to be careful when using these, but, I have been using this one for years so it seems to be decent.

I'd bet that those holes in the software that the hackers from russia and china walk through were all known beforehand by western security services, who kept them close for their own purposes instead of reporting them to get them closed.
