"This would obviously have been grounds for rejecting his candidacy," Martin Masse [a spokesperson for the PPC] said in an email.

"We certainly are appalled and find it quite hypocritical that one of our former candidates would enable authoritarian measures from the Trudeau government for personal profit, at the same time as he publicly opposed these measures as a PPC candidate."

At least we can agree on the hypocrisy thing.
