I loved this coaster when I rode it last year, but I actually had no issues with the restraints. That being said, it sounds like this will be the same restraints as on Velocicoaster and Pantheon (among others) which are solid so this should be an improvement overall.

I love the Velocicoaster restraints myself but I do feel WAY more secure riding VC than I ever did riding SR.... That sense of security kinda flies in the face of thrill in my opinion. SkyRusk is certainly going to remain an elite ride -- I just am going to miss that feeling that I'm going to die haha
I love this! To me SkyRush's restraints hurt too badly to make the ride worth it. This is essentially like Hershey adding another coaster for me!
I get that..... TBH I kind of wish they would have kept the wing seats the same and just replaced the center restraints with the new ones so that those who truly did find it too painful to ride had that option without taking away that "oh shit" feeling the OG restraints give.
I hope I'm wrong and SR still scares the shit out of me.
I'm interested to see how people feel about it compared to the old seats/restraints. I might be going to Hershey for the first time this year and have heard all about "thigh crush."
I know there are certainly people that genuinely found it painful but I think the reality is a vast majority of people would have never noticed it had they not been told prior to their first ride on the coaster. It's become such a meme that it's been an expected thing for anyone. Unfortunately there isn't any way that this can be proven one way or the other but, at least for those around me, the ones who knew nothing about the coaster going into it (typically more general public leaning friends and family) really enjoyed the ride and didn't experience any pain.
Interesting. Hopefully it won't be bad for me.
