When I read that I thought the article was a joke. Turns out there really is an chemical called piperazinium.

In all cases biggest challenge is thaving these chemicals stable enough to last for at least 20 years or so otherwise it won't be worth buying. 31% effecieny is nice but still longevity is a big factor.

I feel like we see an article like this every year. A 1-2% gain isn’t what I consider “much” better. It is an incremental change in a positive direction it isn’t going to revolutionize the industry.

Especially when every marginal improvement is priced way too highly compared to the 2% worse version

AFAIK solar panels are currently ~23% efficient. So ~30% is a big deal https://www.cleanenergyreviews.info/blog/most-efficient-solar-panels
