Beehaw's community for socialists, communists, anarchists, and non-authoritarian leftists (this means anti-capitalists) of all stripes. A place for all leftist and labor news and discussion, as long as you're nice about it.

Non-socialists are welcome to come to learn, though it's hard to get to in-depth discussions if the community is constantly fighting over the basics. We ask that non-socialists please be respectful and try not to turn this into a "left vs right" debate forum by asking leading questions or by trying to draw others into a fight.

Unfortunately with a mentality like that (of the NYT), all countries in the Americas are never going to go in a direction that’s best for the country or their population, since any shift in direction can be considered an “attack” on the US.

The problem is it is far from just the NYT. It's the same from most mainstream liberals. Biden said nothing would fundamentally change. That's what they want. Stagnant status quo forever. They want their political theatre that solves no problems and stays in deadlock so they can say they are fighting for whatever goal they state. But that's what has allowed fascism to grow strong, people being frustrated with do-nothing representatives. God forbid people take effective action that has results.
