The app is just getting better and better after every update! Btw, will Mlem support posting images, like Memmy and WefWef?

Rules
- Keep it civil.
- This is a forum for discussion about Mlem. We welcome a degree of general chatter, but anything not related to Mlem may be removed at moderator discretion. This is not a forum for iPhone/Android debate. Posts and comments saying nothing but "iOS bad/I use Android" will be removed as off-topic.

FAQ
- When will insert feature here be implemented?
- Check our issue board--if there isn't an issue open for the feature you want, feel free to open an issue or make post! Just remember that devs are people too--we're doing this for free in our spare time, and building a quality app takes a lot of patient work.
- Is Mlem available for Android?
- No. Mlem is written using SwiftUI, which is not currently supported on Android. If such support becomes available, we will look into bringing Mlem to our Android friends.
- How do I join the beta?
- We are currently testing our new 2.0 codebase on TestFlight. We have two beta groups: a weekly group that receives the current state of our development branch every week, and a stable group that receives a curated pre-release build at the end of each development cycle.

- How do I join the dev team?
- Head over to our recruitment channel, or go straight to our GitHub and read CONTRIBUTING.md to get started.
We sure will! That's currently slated as a 1.1 feature, so it should be coming shortly after our App Store release
In general I really like the app. Great job on the UI!
I will admit I immediately check each update to see if an image viewer has been implemented yet though.
Compact mode is still not compact. It needs to be MUCH more dense, IE 8-12 posts visible, not 4. Take a look at Memmy & wefwef for an example, they got it right
I’m on an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I’m seeing over 8 posts per page when in compact mode. Perhaps your font is set to be larger?
You’re right. After updating it defaults headline instead of previously selected compact. It’s much better now
Was going to say, I love the new compact mode but I had to change it after I logged in.
Can you try going to appearance settings and re-setting compact mode? I see 9 posts on my iPhone 14 Pro Max
I just updated to this 147 version and the compact mode is very similar to wefwef and memmy. Only difference is the community name is on top of the post title where on wefwef the community is to the left of the post statistics on the bottom.
Do I hallucinate or did the app feature a lemmygrad icon before?
So funny you say that, in the latest update the “MlemmyGrad” icon was removed, the default “Mlem” icon was made brighter and a new icon “Funny Conductor Lem” was added.
I don’t know why “MlemmyGrad” was axed though… Maybe failed he’s classes and didn’t graduate after all…? 🤨😅
This is the app that got me going in the verse, thank you!
Solid app but it’s missing the ability to tap images and view them full screen. Hoping that’s coming soon. Cheers!
We're working on it! We've got a rough implementation, but it's rough--we're hoping to get it polished up and down the pipeline soon
Looks and feel great! But how is opening pictures by clicking on thumbnails or from inside posts not a thing yet? Please tell me it will happen with the next update
We have a rough build of the feature, but it's nowhere near production ready. Hopefully we can get it out in a minor patch before we go to the App Store, but it might have to wait until 1.1.
Excellent work guys. Do you think you could add the ability to reorder accounts in the accounts page?
Thanks for the continuing updates!
One thing that drives me nuts (in iOS in general) is accidentally tapping the top right corner and it scrolling to the top. Any way to add an option where this can be turned off? Or maybe double tap takes you back to where you were?
We try to avoid disabling native behavior, but we do have a feature in the works to return to scroll position, so keep an eye out--probably coming in 1.1 or 1.2, we haven't nailed down the scoping of it yet
I got to this community via the new search! Great work folks
Will this come to Android?
Not unless somebody wants to remake it. It's built using SwiftUI from the ground up, which isn't really portable. It is open source, though, so anybody is welcome to port it themselves :P
Amazing work!! Please consider making the number of comments be in the middle vs when it was posted. The most important thing in a lemmy thread (just like reddit) is the comments. Having the number of comments be in the middle would be much more convenient to know if I should open a thread
Why can’t I just copy images raw to share to my friends :(
Definitely needs a way to save/share images.
Just updated, last version was a bit buggy in iOS 17, hope this one fixes most issues.
Will there be an option to mark opened posts as read? Something like on the web. Might be some setting I'm missing.
Great app. However, its not as smooth runing on my 14 Pro. The 120hz display makes it look choppy when scrolling.
And could you make the thumbnails on the right? Thanks man
To both: it's in the works. We're constantly optimizing our image preloading, which is the primary driver of the smoothness of the feed--we've got a really nice implementation that's way smoother coming down the pipeline soon.
As to the thumbnails, we've been getting a ton of feedback asking for various customizations like that, so we're bumping all the "easy win" customizability up--the next update we put out should have the option to swap thumbnail side, plus some other high-demand toggles
This is so much better! This is coming along nicely
Great update!
Wish this was on Android. Great looking app
Great update but the scroll bar seems to be missing in the list of posts of an instance, within the post‘s comments it’s there though.
Great update! Thanks so much for bringing back compact mode for posts. You knocked it out of the park, and I think it is pretty perfect the way that it is now with respect to text size, information density, content layout, etc.
I think it would be great to see a compact mode for comments as well, that would change things like text size, content layout (one line for username, timestamp, vote counts instead of two), hiding certain elements (save, reply) etc. I'm not sure if you have anything in your upcoming customization update for that. :)
Edit: Also, I'm not sure if you are aware, but the options for All/Subscribed/Local that you get when you long press on the Mlem app icon do not seem to work. When selected, the app opens, but that is it.
