that is probably related to your instance, i use liftoff too and there isn't much delay

[–] meteotsunami@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Connect loads so much faster than liftoff, which sucks because I like liftoff better if it wasn't an original EverQuest zone loading screen everything I looked at a post.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, using liftoff. But I know I'm gonna start app-jumping until Sync arrives.

I switched to another instance about an hour ago and you're right. I can finally browse comfortably again (on liftoff as well)

[–] Monologue@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 year ago

omg hi instance friend

[–] Kotton@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Ok, I'll repost. Lol

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It isn't the app, it's the instance.

[–] Still@programming.dev 2 points 1 year ago

yeah, the commends load nearly instantly for me

Huh, we’re a meme already. All publicity is good publicity I guess.

[–] Kotton@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sorry, wasn't meant to be a shit on anyone post. Liftoff is by far the best app on Android.

[–] mykl@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Haha, it only hurt because it was true. Hopefully it’s performing much better now.

The irony is that we left Reddit for how they killed quality apps, and on Lemmy we're no way close a single properly functioning one still, despite some incredibly great efforts by devs.

[–] Venutianxspring@lemmy.fmhy.ml 14 points 1 year ago

I think that's a bit harsh. I have Jerboa liftoff and connect installed and they are all good. Are they as good as apps that had a decade to polish up? No, but they're pretty damn good for some new apps and they're certainly nowhere near broken.

Give it some time, the network is still young and so are the apps.

Had it BEAN taking a long time?

[–] Kotton@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

Felt as if it had bean forever

[–] gvasco@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 year ago

Bean it then.

[–] gvasco@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It loads pretty fast for me, you sure it's not your connection?

[–] Kotton@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

2 gig google fiber. Not my connection.

[–] ReveredOxygen@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago

It's because you're on lemmy.ml, it's way overloaded

[–] gvasco@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 year ago

No VPN or Proxies being used? Anyways, like others have mentioned you're on a popular and possibly overloaded instance which is probably why it's taking so long.
